Our mission

What do a toothbrush, a phone charging cable and a trash bag have in common? Well, all these objects, very useful in everyday life, are made from plastic!

In 2017, plastic production increased by 3.9% to reach 348 million tonnes. The European share represents 18.5% or 64.4 million tonnes. It should be noted that global production has practically doubled in less than 20 years * [1]

We all know the problem: managing the 100 million tonnes of plastic objects that we find everywhere, in our cities, our forests, our countryside, our seas and our oceans.

At Caliquo we try, through our eco-responsible products, to provide an answer to these two questions:

1. What can be done to limit plastic consumption?
2. What can we do to produce differently?

Caliquo, an ecological concept of rechargeable toothbrush

In France, disposable toothbrushes represent 1,400 tonnes of waste per year of non-recycled and non-recyclable plastics because they are made of mixed plastics. A so-called conventional toothbrush weighs around 18 grams. 18 grams of plastic therefore go into the trash every 3 months while only the bristles of the brush are worn out.

We are therefore trying, through our ecological toothbrushes, to get out of the era of all plastic by creating everyday objects that are sustainable and/or zero waste.

We'll spare you the story of the initial fumbling, the "Eureka, I've found it!", the sleepless nights trying to find THE ideal system. All you need to remember is that our rechargeable head system was developed in 2013 and that it allows our toothbrushes to stay in our bathrooms for a long, long time!

Thanks to this concept, plastic waste is divided by 8: only 8 grams per year are thrown away, that is to say less than a single disposable toothbrush. The used heads are then recycled, nylon on one side and base on the other.
