Wavy hair: understanding to take care of it
Everything you need to know about wavy hair.
The shape of the curls and the thickness of the hair can vary. We talk about wavy hair but in reality one type of wavy hair is not the same as another.
Some hairdressers and hair stylists have even classified the different types of hair in order to better differentiate them. This goes from type 1A to type 4C. The number indicates whether the hair is straight, wavy, curly or frizzy. The letter indicates the texture of the hair. For wavy hair it goes from 2A to 2C.
2A: Straight roots with very slight S-curls. Not very voluminous.
2B: Straight root with more pronounced waves
2C: wavy hair from the roots. not curly but very voluminous compared to the other two types.
You can sometimes find this classification on shampoos or hair care products.
Taking care of your wavy hair
In absolute terms, this classification is not very useful for taking care of your hair on a daily basis. In fact, it is mainly the nature (dry, oily, brittle) of your wavy hair that will guide you in your choice of care.
Wavy hair can face the exact same issues as straight and curly/frizzy hair, including excess sebum and dehydrated ends. If you are looking for recipes for homemade hair masks, we recommend our article right here: homemade hair mask
