How to do without shaving soap?
Shaving soap for a perfect shave
Do you like to have a perfectly shaved face? You certainly know that shaving should always be done with a special soap to easily slide the razor blade, to avoid cuts, to keep irritation away, to not make multiple passes of the blades on the face and to properly remove each hair. Moreover, if you shave in the traditional way, shaving soap is the most suitable for an incomparable and comfortable result.
What is shaving soap?
A shaving soap is a circular or rectangular bar of soap, a bar of soap that was used to wash before the appearance of foam, shower gel, etc. It is applied to the face to straighten facial hair and to simplify shaving. Due to its components, it foams well on contact with damp skin. It is used with two accessories: a shaving brush like the one sold at Caliquo and a shaving bowl. The shaving brush is a tuft of synthetic or natural hair attached to a wooden base, while the bowl is the container for making the creamy, soft and protective foam, unlike standard spray foam. The importance of shaving soap is that it protects the skin during old-fashioned shaving. Its use also allows for a less irritating shave, and it is excellent for sensitive skin. Comfort will be there. Shaving soap is durable and economical, it is less expensive than conventional foam. It is also eco-friendly, as it is sold with minimal packaging, so zero waste is guaranteed. But it is also practical when traveling, as spray foam in hand luggage is prohibited in airports.
How to make shaving soap foam?
There are two ways to make a shaving soap foam: in a bowl and on the skin. Using the French-made shaving brush from the Caliquo brand is always essential. To make the foam foam, adding water is necessary during the emulsion.
- The bowl : The traditional shaving bowl has a curved surface that allows you to easily rotate the brush to create the lather. The principle is the same as when you beat egg whites. If you don't have this bowl, you can use a classic bowl. The first thing to do is to wet the surface of the shaving soap with water to soften it. Then, dip the badger bristles in warm water, and drain before passing over the soap. Place the loaded soap in the bowl in circular movements until the lather appears. If the lather does not rise, add water with your fingers.
- Directly on the skin : You can skip the bowl by applying the shaving brush loaded with shaving soap directly to the skin. The other technique is to apply a layer of soap to the skin and use the damp brush to work the lather up on the face. Make circular movements in the shape of an 8 starting from the chin to the cheeks. Stop at the places where the foam has difficulty becoming creamy.
