What is it for?

Everyone has their own little oral routine. But are you in the habit of flossing? Flossing should be part of your daily routine, it helps eliminate food debris, reduce the risk of cavities and remove bacterial plaque.

Dental floss is used to eliminate gingivitis. Gingivitis is bleeding, painful or even swollen gums.

For your information, a daily toothbrush removes 50% of dental plaque. With the addition of dental floss every day, you will be able to remove 70% of dental plaque.

If you don't remove plaque and food debris, you risk inflammation and irritation of your gums.

When and how to use dental floss?

Flossing is recommended after evening tooth brushing.

To use dental floss you must have tight teeth, if the floss does not have contact with the teeth on both sides it will not be effective.

Cut a piece of dental floss about 30 to 40 cm long and wrap it around your middle finger.

Insert the dental floss between 2 teeth, go down until reaching the gum. The dental floss must pass the contact point of the 2 teeth. Once the floss has passed, bring the dental floss up towards the first tooth. Then go back down to the gum and do it again towards the side of the second tooth.

If this is your first time using it, don't worry if your gums start to bleed, it's normal, they're not used to it.
