Homemade fabric softener

Homemade fabric softener, the alternative to stopping chemicals:

Fabric softener, like laundry detergent and other products you can find in supermarkets, are unfortunately made with chemicals that are polluting and harmful to health.

And yes, like laundry detergent, we can also make our own fabric softener. Are you tired of chemicals being released into the environment? Then make your own laundry detergent, fabric softener, softener, soap, creams, etc.

Why use vinegar?

If you don't have the desire and the courage to make a mixture to make your own fabric softener, you can still use vinegar alone! Vinegar will only have positive effects, it will soften any fabric, whether natural or synthetic. Vinegar is an anti-limescale agent, which is why your laundry will be softened. Vinegar leaves no odor on your laundry, but on the other hand it disinfects, deodorizes and descales the machine. In addition, it is more ecological and hypoallergenic.

Homemade fabric softener recipe:

  • 500 ml of water
  • 300 ml of white or alcohol vinegar
  • Essential oil (choice of: lemon, eucalyptus, lavender or mint)

Why not other essential oils simply because they risk causing irritation.

In a container, mix water and vinegar, then add a few drops of essential oil. Do not put too much essential oil or you risk staining your laundry. Close your container, shake several times and there you have it, the fabric softener is ready!

Before each use, shake your fabric softener again so that it is well mixed. Pour 50 ml into the compartment provided in your machine. To take the process further, use homemade laundry detergent.
