How to properly brush your child's teeth with a baby toothbrush?

6 months: gentle brushing, done by the parents. The French Union for Oral Health (UFSBD) recommends starting brushing as soon as our babies' first teeth appear, that is to say... sometimes as early as 4 months! Milk, whether breast or artificial, contains many fats and sugars that can attack baby teeth, even in very young children.

Between 6 months and two years , it is recommended that parents gently brush your child's first teeth morning and evening - with a suitable brush and a little water.

Between 2 and 6 years old: the brushing ritual, a special educational time

This is a time of great learning! Why not use the ritual, often a family one, of first tooth brushing to gently convey a message? It is good and healthy to brush your teeth but it is also good to keep what can be kept. Our dear little ones will quickly understand that a toothbrush is not thrown away and will surely be amused by the unclipping of the head that you will perform in front of them!

At what age should a child use a toothbrush?

child and baby toothbrush

Good oral hygiene should be adopted as soon as baby teeth appear, on average around 18 months. For toddlers, teeth cleaning should be regular and done correctly. Depending on age, the rules for brushing evolve as do the toothbrushes to use. In reality, it is absolutely necessary to start using a child's toothbrush from 18 months. Before that, you can if you wish start brushing your child's teeth yourself with a child's toothbrush model like the one from Caliquo but your child is too young to brush their teeth alone. There are also specific models of baby toothbrushes that are not really toothbrushes as we imagine them but also at the same time objects to bite to stimulate your baby's gums and soothe this pain during the growth of baby teeth.

What if your child's toothbrush became a fun way to talk to them about ecology and sustainable objects?

At Caliquo, children or babies are not left behind, we offer them ecological toothbrushes adapted to their age. These clean every nook and cranny of the teeth and prevent cavities. They have an ergonomic bioplastic handle and an interchangeable head. The bioplastic handle is made of 70% castor oil and 30% ABS plastic to stiffen the children's toothbrush .
This is not bioplastic, but a plant-based plastic, a better alternative to petroleum-based plastic. For gentle brushing, they have soft and supple bristles that perfectly respect children's dental enamel as well as the rounded shape of their molars. These toothbrushes are used like classic toothbrushes and should be changed every 3 months.
When the bristles are worn out, simply change the head of the child's toothbrush , the unclipping is done by an adult. It does not have a push button, to remove the used head, you have to insert a fine point (pen, paper clip, etc.) into the small cavity. It should be noted that the clip system is patented and secure. For the use of these French-made toothbrushes, an adult must always be present. Their recycling is carried out by the company Terracycle.
