Tooth extraction
What is a tooth extraction?
As its name suggests, a tooth extraction is the removal of one or more teeth. Of course, only healthcare professionals are authorized to perform tooth extractions.
Wisdom teeth are the teeth that are routinely extracted. They can disrupt the development of certain teeth, can shift all the teeth, can be painful, and sometimes the patient does not have all 4. Today, dentists regularly recommend tooth extraction for wisdom teeth to prevent problems.
For other teeth, only your dentist will make the decision to perform a tooth extraction in the following cases:
- Unhealthy teeth
- Carries
- Broken teeth
- Primary teeth do not fall out
How to soothe your mouth after a tooth extraction?
- Put some ice in a thick cloth (the goal is not to burn your skin but to soothe your mouth), then leave it on your cheek for a few minutes where your toothache is.
- Use a salty mouthwash to help with healing. Recipe: 1 teaspoon in 1 glass of warm water. Do this twice a day.
If the pain persists, please contact your dentist or doctor.
